Heera wins Vanitharathnam!!

Dr Heera Won the Vanitharathnam competition aired in amrita tv in the grand finale that concluded on July 14th in Trivandrum. Reena machan who was the front runner till the last day with more sms coming for her was just outmarked by the enourmous volume of sms heera recieved on the final day!!! in one minute the average sms she was getting was nearly 2000+ which is less when compared to main stream channel reality contests, still considering the population of kerala and the popularity of amrita tv this amount was pretty huge and good.

The dance performace By heera in the final day wasnt upto the mark but still she deserved to win the competition. Just a scrap congrats Heera!!! Well done Heera!!

Also another competition thatz in full swing is Idea Star Singer. I read in Jo’s Blog about ranjini and her Manglish accent in his latest blog asianet or ranjini. I had sent a comment on ranjini’s orkut scrap book once telling her that we do imitate her style of manglish!! “Uncleeeeee” ….but i must say shez full of energy!! n a good anchor!! makes your mind relax …n it’s fun to watch her anchor!! atleast it’s some tamasha!!

New Advertisement for Cadbury Diary Milk

I love diary milk. A new add for diary milk have been aired  which features amitabh bachchan hitting a lamp post and falling unconscious in an urgency to have something meetha.The teaser commercial invited the viewers to visit www.meethamoments.com to guess what happens next. Over the 10 days between the launch of the teaser campaign and the reveal campaign, over 17,000 visitors have registered on the website and entered a competition to preview the continuation TV commercial before its launch in the channels. The registered users were invited to a special microsite to view the commercial along with the permission to invite two more friends, making this a one of its kind communication initiative to engage with its consumers even before the new commercial launch.

The new advertisement  has been created by Ogilvy & Mather Advertising. Abhijit Avashti, Group Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather & Shekhar Jha, Creative Director, Ogilvy and Mather have worked on the commercial. Sujit Sarkar from Red Ice Productions has produced the commercial.

Real Estate Television in India

India’s first 24-hour premium TV Channel dedicated completely to real estate—is all set to be launched next month. This was announced here by the channel’s promoter, Mr Manoj Namburu, CMD of Alliance Group, a Rs.4400-crore enterprise. He said though the channel was promoted by the Alliance Group, it was of and for the real estate sector at large.

The pan-India English-language channel, he said, was being put together under the advice and guidance of well-known media personality, Sashi Kumar, by a team of seasoned media professionals led by COO, T.K. Vibhaker. As the channel involving an investment outlay of Rs 100 crore will exclusively offer real estate related programmes, its launch will mark yet another first by the IT Capital of India.

Mom vs Mom Aka Yuvaraj vs Yuvraj

Those who had seen Headlines today yesterday wouldnt have missed an intresting fight on live in the headlines today studio between Neelam Mahajan and Shabana Singh(yuvraj Singh’s mother). It was a battle with words in the end neelam made an exit from the studio while the show was still on air and she went through the back of newsreader to the other side where her lawyer was sitting and dragged him out of the studio. It was quite funny to watch Mom’s Fight.

If you have wondered what was the fight for, then Here goes the story.Yuvraj Singh had allegedly misbehaved with another guest Yuvraj Mahajan’s(Neelam mahagen’s son)  girlfriend and beaten him on December 12, 2006, in Gurgaon. Neelam filed a complaint and report said that Yuvraj had an argument with her son before breaking into a fight in a drunken state.Yuvraj Mahajan was taken to hospital after the incident.

On the show Cricketers mom showed proofs of documents signed between the two as part of settlement of the on goin tug of words. Neelam Denied that to be forged. Is this all Cheap publicity show by neelam? Crap it is!

Finally some twist and turn? What will Happen next. keep watching yaar![ no offense meant to soap fans] . Even i used to watch malayalam Mega serials.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor(she’s stylish n beautiful :d)  the serial hit the screen on 2000. Smriti Irani from playing the 20-something Tulsi, she greyed on air with elan to playing a 60-something grandmother.

Top Ten Big Brother Controversies

I wonder how many Indians had heard of the Big brother show before the Racism  controversy which lead to Indias very own(yea yea) Shilpa Shetty winning the Big Brother show and heavy cash.

She again created controversy back in India with Actor Richard Gere Kissin(It’s called pecking :d) her in front of lorry drivers during an aids awareness program[ Crap thought : cant they kiss in private ].

Shilpa Shetty isnt the topic of this post though, i just came across the BIG BROTHER controversies posted in the Channel 4 website. Super Singer vs Star Singer

Amrita TV’s Super Singer was such a huge hit. The Family audience just switched from the era of those long running soaps to the erra of reality shows. Even at first i never used to watch amrita tv but always admired the picture quality,the colors and the pleasantness of the channel. Off late amrita tv has been turned into the hubb of reality tv shows. From Super Singer, Super Singer junior, Vanitharathnam and to the latest super dancer the channel is defnitely making it big.

I used to watch these relatiy shows back at home, rite now in bangalore ive no amrita tv here in my cable operator hathway. So wen yesterday while i was channel surfing i came across the Star Singer Hunt in the Asianet. Asianet has Made it big. They can boast of the best judges(Usha Udup,M G Sreekumar etc). What attracted and shocked me the most if the prize money. A flat worth 40 lakhs for the winner(40 laksh worth flat in cochin from confident group)…whoa….thatz what i call a prize.Compared to amrita TV’s 5 lakhs, 40 lakhs does make a difference. Hope the competition gets tougher. Im Looking forward to seeing the episodes but i’ll definitely miss amrita tv.
