Kerala Loksabha Elections 2009 constituency and candidate watch

Loksabha Elections 2009 for kerala is scheduled to happen on April 16. Last time the LDF government almost had a sweep and they bagged around 18 seats out of 20. This time the situation is unpredictible and LDF wont be able to do the 2004 tricks.

  • Ernakulam Loksabha Elections 2009
    The new ernakulam parliament assembly constituency is created by adding parts of old Mukundapuram parliament constituency to Ernakulam. Seven legislative assembly constituency are part of Ernakulam constituency . Aluva is now detached from Ernakulam. Puthanvelikkara, Vadakkekara, Chittattukara panchayaths are included into new Ernakulam lok sabha constituency. The new Kalamassery assembly segments , Ernakulam, Thirkkakara, Thrippunithura, Vypin, Paravoor, Kochi assembly segments are constituting Ernakulam parliament constituency.

  • Kasargod Loksabha Elections 2009 
    Kasargod constituency cover whole assembly segments of Kasaragod district and two from
    Kannur. Assembley constituencies from Kasaragod are Kasaragod, Manjeswaram, Uduma, Hosdurg, Thrikarippur plus Payyannur and Thaliparamba from Kannur.

  • Kannur Loksabha Elections 2009 
    Kannur Lok Sabha constituency has seven Assembly segments at presebt with its boundaries changed. The segments retained in the constituency are Irikkur, Azhikode, Kannur and Peravur. Taliparamba has been added from the Kasaragod Lok Sabha constituency. Dharmadom and Mattannur are newly created segments.

    Vadakara Loksabha Constituency consists of Thalassery Assembly constituency in Kannur district, Vadakara, Nadapuram, Koyilandy, Perambra, Koothuparamba Assembly segment in Kannur district and the newly created Kuttiyadi segment in Kozhikode.

    Kottayam parliament constituency consist of the Vaikom (SC), Kaduthuruthy, Ettumanur, Kottayam, Puthuppally, Changanassery and Vazhoor Assembly segments. Changanaserry and vazhoor disappeared from old map and piravom and pala got added.

    The Idukki parliamentary constituency  consists of  Idukki, Thodupuzha, Devicolam, Udumbanchola, Peermade, Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha. From the old map idukki loose two parliament segments ranni and Pathanamthitta. Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha are the new additions.

    three fromThrissur. Aluva, Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Kunnathunadu are taken from Ernakulam and Kodungalloor, Chalakkudi, Kaippamangalam are from thrissur.

    disappeared. Kazhakoottam is the new addition.

      newly formed??? It is the Pathanamthitta constituency that is newly formed and not these legislative constituencies. They are all existing ones.
