The name is Resul Pookutty!
Resul pookutty was little known untill his name was nominated for the oscars and after winning the oscars he is a hero back home. He also won the Bafta and has won Zee film awards in 2004.
Resul was the sound designer for Gajini and saawariya. He hails from Kollam, Kerala.
Interestingly i find articles which tried to define the word “pookutty”. One paper defined the word as “Flower Kid” and another said “Pookutty” means dead drunk! The word pookutty will be quite normal for a keralite and i never thought of these two meanings. I actually thought it to be a surname. Definitely the name Poookutty has made History!. So he can now prowdy say, The name is Resul Pookutty.
A lil funny story to spice up
An Indian engineer was taking a client for the city tour and suddenly the client was excited seeing a board which read “Hump Ahead”. Have any of the indians thought of “humping” while seeing the board hump ahead??
