Zakumi is the Mascot for South Africa 2010 Fifa Worldcup

The Mascot for the 2010 Fifa World Cup has been announced. The Mascot has been named Zakumi. The first two letters “ZA” stands for South Africas  and “Kumi” means 10 in assorted African Languages.

Zakumi is the Green haired leopard. Andries Odendaal, from Cape Town, created the mascot. Zakumi’s birth year has been selected as 1994, the same year of democracy returned to our country.

The White and Green Dress of Zakumi has been designed by Cora Simpson.
