Zakumi is the Mascot for South Africa 2010 Fifa Worldcup

The Mascot for the 2010 Fifa World Cup has been announced. The Mascot has been named Zakumi. The first two letters “ZA” stands for South Africas  and “Kumi” means 10 in assorted African Languages.

Zakumi is the Green haired leopard. Andries Odendaal, from Cape Town, created the mascot. Zakumi’s birth year has been selected as 1994, the same year of democracy returned to our country.

The White and Green Dress of Zakumi has been designed by Cora Simpson.

Indias Mission to Moon Chandrayaan 1

India’s Mission to Moon Chandrayaan 1 will be on Display for the first time before Media. Chandrayaan Means “Moon Craft”. 

The Project was announced on the occassion of 56th indepence day of India on August 15 2003by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. India will be sending its own space craft to the Moon. Chandrayaan-1, the lunar craft would be launched using Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) weighing 1304 kg at launch and 590 kg at lunar orbit. Lunar craft would orbit around moon 100 km from moon surface.

This mission is expected to have an operational life of about 2 years.

Saw a sexy sports car on the road with an attractive number? Want to know who owns this super machine? Well you can easily do this online. The respective state governments have got websites that tells you the owner details by just giving the registration number of the vehicle.

• To Check for the Owner details of Vehicles in Kerala India you can head to the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department Website and use the Vehicle Details Page
• For Delhi Registration Details of the Vehicles can be found at Delhi Vehicles Portal

Rest of the state i could not locate the page. The Karnataka Transport Department website dosent have the option to find the registration details of vehicles.

Biswamohan Pani Indian Techie in US accused of stealing Trade secret

Biswamohan Pani (33) an IIT graduate and hailing from Bhubaneswar is caught in a trade secret wrange between Intel and AMD.

The FBI has charged Biswamohan who was working in US with Intel till May of stealing trade secrets after he joined AMD. Biswamohan joined AMD in June and  his house was then searched by the FBI. FBI allegedly found 100 sensitive Intel documents including a few design plans for processor chips in his possession.

Biswamohan says that his wife being a intel employee, he had the documents with him to transfer to his wife for reference. His elderly parents back home in India have little clue of the incidents and they are hoping to see him back soon. Meanwhile he surrendered his passport to US authorities.

His fate now depends on the Trial.

BMW Mini to be launched in India by 2009

BMW MINI will hit the Indian roads in 2009. The car will will be imported completely and will carry the price tag between Rs 20-25 lakhs. BMW will be focusing mainly the Delhi and Mumbai markets for the Mini.
