Medal for Bindra and Cash reward for Sunny Thomas the Coach: Kerala CM
If Manorama Online reports are true, Abhinav Bindra will be given a Gold medal by the Kerala Government. A gold medal for winning a gold medal is a good gesture. The interesting part of this article is that, Kerala CM has announced Rs 5 Lakh in cash for Sunny thomas for being the Coach of the Shooting team of indian Olympic Shooting team.
I purely did not get this logic. As per the reports he was coached By german coach Gaby Buehlmann. This is what Times of India had written on His win . “He turned back and went up to hug his Swiss coach Gaby Buehlmann, with whom he trained for months in Germany, away from the intrusive home media. After the medals’ ceremony, Bindra was mobbed by journalists, several of them from Finland and China. ”
He put his own efforts, worked rigorously at his home shooting range, went to germany and got trained. I am totally ignorant of the contributions of Sunny thomas in training Abhinav Bindra (can anybody enlighten me with sunny thomas efforts?). Just being a malayalee dosent mean sunny thomas deserves all the credits by Kerala government for the Biggest Achievement Abhinav Bindra has earned.

For all those doesnt know about Mr. Sunny Thomas , he has played an instrumental role in shaping our shooters. It is his successful training module that clinched medals for Rathore and Bindra now.
He unlike most of the people doesnt like to get into the limelight of grabing attention.
Perhaps Abinav, Rathore, Jaspal Rana, Anjali and a host of others will enlighten more on his contributions from a very professional angle.

Joseph thanks for the share on the bit of information. I still did not get it…Gaby Buehlmann or Sunny Thomas is the coach of Bindra? I could not find any source on the previous coaches of Bindra…
