How to Stop unwanted calls in your Airtel and Vodafone Mobile numbers

One of the most annoying stuff is the promotional calls and hello tune calls you recieve daily in your mobile from your service providers. Here is the way to stop these promotional/offer calls from Airtel and vodafone.
Both Airtel and Vodafone users can SMS START DND to 1909 (toll free) to stop these unwanted calls.
You can also do this from the Airtel and vodafone websites
- Do not Disturb Page to Stop unwanted calls for vodafone users. Add your name, email and mobile number to this page and stop all unwanted promotional/offer calls.
- Airtel prepaid and postpaid customers Do not Disturb Page
- Airtel landline Customers use this Page. You need to put in your Airtel land line number, account number and email.
If you are using other service providers check below
- BPL Mobile – Do Not call sign up page
- BSNL Do not Call registration – you need to be registered to use this service.
- Idea Cellular – Post paid users need to be registered to use this service. Prepaid users just need to enter their number to stop unwanted calls.
- MTNL Delhi – A bit lengthy registration form
- MTNL Mumbai – this page speaks for itself.
- Reliance Mobile – Do not call me, i will call you
- Spice Karnataka – Sms START DND to 1909 or call 9844098440 and place a request.
- Spice Punjab
- Aircel Chennai
- Aircel Tamilnadu
- Tata Indicom – sms START DND to 1909, or you can use the My account(for registered users) page for the same to stop promotional calls in your tata indicom mobile.

There is a mistake in the SMS TAG provided above. It is START DND to stop unwanted call. And if you type STOP DND, it will reactivate unwanted calls from the Service Provider & third party.

Basically am using spice prepaid connection since 4 years. To avoid unwanted calls i have already registered to 1909 and my request No. is 36169507. However there are lot of calls am reciving after the registration, any body please suggest me to stop this non-sence or can i go for court to stop this?

Which state are you from? Did you call up customer care and checked it out? It takes 2 to 3 days for this service to get activated. What kind of calls are you getting?

if u r vodafone user pls try this to avoid nusence
Dial *514# (toll free) from your Vodafone mobile phone. Alternatively you can even call 55144 and follow the interactive menu.
add the mobile number
caller will get to hear the following message when they try to call you:
The Vodafone subscriber you are trying to reach does not wish to receive your call.

It’s funny.Airtel asks me to type in a four digit activation code for DND service activation which was sent to me. When i enter the four digits and click enter it asks for a 10 digit number. WTF!

Those who want to block spam SMS can try smsblocker application by optinno.
check http://www.smsblocker.in
smsblocker automatically identify spam smses and filter them silently.
No need to maintain black list or add sender in blocklist every time.
Its very handy…
