It’s time for Elections in Bangalore,Karnataka Get your Voters ID Card!
Well it’s time for elections in Bangalore. Today i went to have a tea from “ikkas” T-shop and i could see a huge crowd of people. Initially i thought some fight and later i realised that they are preparing the voters list for our area. Those bunch of guys are from a Politcal party (I’m not sure which). So i decided to digg up some information on Karnataka Elections.
A total of 224 seats are there and polling will take place in three phases starting May 10 and on May 16 and May 22, 2008. The Karnataka Election results (Vote counting) will be declared on May 25, 2008.
There are a total of 40,077,666 voters and 39758 polling stations would be set up for the karnataka elections. The count of Female Voters in Karnataka is 19,678,328 compared to Males which is 20,399,338.
The Major Political Parties in the Karnataka Elections are
- Congress
- BJP
- JD(S)
- BSP
- Lok Parivarthan(its a new entrant and a party formed by the IIT’ians).
