Scarlett Murder Case Mystery: Contradicting Reports in TOI and IBNLive
Today I was browsing through IBNLive and Times of India and both places had reports on Scarlett, the foreigner who got murdered (found dead) in Goa. What made me write this post is that Both Times of India and Ibnlive gave a different picture to me.

Times of India’s version
PANAJI: Goa Police said its investigations reveal that the British teen-aged girl Scarlett Keeling died due to drug overdose and drowning in beach water.Earlier, a prime suspect in the murder of a British teenaged girl was arrested late on Wednesday night even as Goa police faced fresh embarrassment with a doctor, who conducted the first autopsy on her, claimed that the police had ignored his finding that she could have been killed.
Placido Carvalho, whose anticipatory bail was rejected by district and sessions court on Wednesday, was arrested and charged with murder (section 302 of IPC) of 15-year-old Scarlett Keeling, sources in the police said.
IBNLive
New Delhi: Goa Police claim to have solved the controversial Scarlette Keeling rape and murder case with the arrest of a second suspect on Wednesday night.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that the second man arrested in connection with the case, Placido Carvalho, alias Shanuboy, was responsible for her death and has been charged with Scarlette’s rape and murder.
The police claim Carvalho gave Scarlette an overdose of drugs and then raped her. Scarlette subsequently died due to the drug overdose and drowning in shallow water, they said.
Though both the reports once you start rading, you can find the reason of death to be drowning due to drug overdose. But the titles just confuses the reader so much. TOI report does not speak of rape nor the suspect drugging her. It gives the impression that scarlett herself took the drugs!. IBNlive somewhat gives you the correct picture i guess!!
What is you say on the Confusing and misleading news headlines!! ??
