Are you scared to walk to Police station? You have lost something or want to give some complaint? Fear of police is making you take a step back? Now relax, Filing the First Information Report (FIR) is a click away.
The Gujarat police has taken the first step in this aspect by launching the “E Police Station” with an option in the homepage to file an FIR. The system was launched in Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Sabarkantha on Friday and will be replicated in the police commissionerates in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot and in offices of superintendents of police in various districts.
This would reduce the Paper work, but however the print outs of the complainant would be sent to him for signature as only then the FIR can be used as a proof in court. Means there would be delay compared to the Initial procedure wherein you sign while giving complaint.

Why not accepting complaints from all over Gujarat? The complaints can then be forwarded/emailed/faxed to respective police station.There should be an e police station website which should be centralised. The complainant should receive an acknowledgement with complaint number on succesful submission of the complaint. with all these steps only, the procedure can be a real success.
