March 8th is Womens day!
International Women’s Day aka IWD falls on March 8th Every year. Some countries have declared holiday on this special day for women, but not in India.
The day remains an official holiday in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cameroon, China, Cuba, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Why does India have no Holiday? Inspite of now having a lady President and a lady behind the ruling government! why not?
If we need a holiday! then one of the question in front of me is Do people in India really know something called a womens day? As i already pointed out in India there is no holiday on this day nor does it have some impact like Valentines day or mothers day! Do people really care for this day? How many women really know about March 8th! Some even mistake it with mothers day!
Now a days all the Radio channels and Television channels give highlights to any day and due to this many people do know about something called womens day!. For many women it dosent mean anything rather than a normal day! yea may be some good shows in TV to watch! An interview of a great lady who has achieved something !
Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements. It’s a day to project the Women Achievers in the world! and i guess some young ones might get inspired and be famous in future.
