Today When i Tried to log into gmail something new caught my attention. The Old New Sign up Link has been renamed to Pick a name. I found that was pretty nice. It does make a difference from the genuine sign up convention!. Google always does something intresting everyday.

Kalam Starts a Website

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam , the most popular person ever who has been in the Post as the Most Important Person or First Person of India aka the President Of India has started a website by the domain abdulkalam.com .

This was started by him with the aim that normal people and student could communicate to him and ask questions. I tried to goto the website to get a look and feel so that i could write more on it. To my dissapointment I got 500 Page not found error.

Kalamassery - Where in Live in Cochin Kerala

As everyone know im a Proud Mallu!! and i hail from Kalamassery Cochin. Kalamassery is the place where ive been brought up and where i have spend 95% of my life. It’s pretty sweet for me as anyone i love the place where my roots are. I go back home once in a month!

I just thought i’ll just scrap about my place. I dont claim it to be the geographically correct details. It’s just some look through into Kalamassery from my point of view.

Kalamassery is basically divided into 3 parts(Bus stops) basically 

• South Kalamassery - where the kalamassery Muncipality functions
• HMT - you can take this as the central part, Where HMT Factory functions
• North Kalamassery - it’s more commercial

Kalamassery is regarded as a Industrial Hub of  with south kalamassery having an industrial development plot and so many small and big industries functioning here. It’s regarded somewhat polluted because of the amount of chemical wastes that been discarded from Chemical factories in and around the Manjumal area.

Some of the Major factories in kalamassery are:

• FACT
• HMT
• Appolo Tyres (previously Premier Tyres)
• IRE
• TCC

It’s also the Hub of education with schools, universities, colleges, kintergardens and just about anything.

• Rajagiri High School(Kerala State Syllabus) - it was boys only and some years back the fathers decided to make it co-ed.
• St Joseph’s EMHS(State) - Majority chunk of the students are girls here!

• FACT school
• Kalamassery Govt School

Eat outs in Kalamassery
There are not many kewl eat outs in kalamassery. Kalamassery if famous for it’s Shakes. Populary Know as Kalamassery Shakes(the name given by MEC’ians). You can get Kalamassery shake from Fruits Stall in North Kalamassery (Near SBI atm ). It’s Cheap and worth the money you pay!

Kalamassery also has Places of worship for all religions. It does have some B class Movie Theatres and a Railway Station.  There is also a Kerala history Museum in Pathadipalam kalamassery.  A new railway over bridge also came up in south kalamassery fulfilling the dreams of many people. It does also have one TOWN hall owned by kalamassery municipality.

Bangalore Autorickshaw’s

Autorickshaw’s are the main source of commutation if you are here in bangalore other than the BMTC buses which will be crowded like anything. You find hell lot of autorickshaws in bangalore wherever you go. The question is.
Will you get one to your  place of Destination?
 The answer is for sure you will get!(:p what do u expect they are not running around for fun). The time taken to catch one to the place of your destination is pretty long. you will have to show your hand to hell lot of free autorickshwas. They will come stop near you!
You should ask in a polite tone? “Bhayya Forum jayega??”. Now again the intresting question.
What will be the Reply?

1. Ive noted three strange types of answers.
   If it’s a yes they will just either tilt your head to back asking you to get in or either just nod(a slow movement of the head in the downward direction) slightly asking you to come in.
2. You ask and they drove off more faster than they where coming to you!
3. The other is the bargain Game!!! To go to forum from Koramangala first Block(where i stay) according to meter it can come upto 3 kilometers plus(taking the madiwala route/Either through the Sukh sagar side through 100feet road). First they will tell 50!. In reality the real charges can come around 20-25 rupees depending on how good a sprinter the autorickshaw meter is!. Hearing the amount now it’s your turn to either move off from him and wave to the next auto or if you are in hurry n you need to reach the place in time(haha u always start after time) you may now start bargaining starting from 30(knowing it;s more). Some might agree some follows the answer 2 mentioned above.

If you get into an auto ask the driver to Put on the Meter(otherwise you will end up paying more than double). If the driver asks for more go for another auto. you wil surely get autos to your destination if you are ready to wait some time. Dont act as if you are quite new to the place.  Some drivers will only say in kannada. just communicate them in words(destination name, amount, No,yes,”jaao”).

If it rains in bangalore it drains your pocktes and it floods the drivers pockets! They ask thrice and more for the journey!(here you are left with no option. bargain bring the amount to somewhat middle and try reaching home safe). They might ask you for the number of passengers. If you say one they will say 50. As the Number increases the Amount also increases!(remember it’s not the kilometers).  Only 3 persons are allowed per auto. If a fourth person comes in it’s 1 and half times the meter. No compromise on that. After 9.30 pm for any journey the auto’s in bangalore charge one and a half times the meter(that somewhat like a rule here).

Fianlly to stop! i should say you learn from experience! you will learn to deal with the autorickshaw walla’s once you have lost some money paying for the autos and have learnt the routes well!

Satyam GM Kidnapped

New is just Coming in that the Satyam Computers GM Satya Vedula has been kindapped from hyderabad when he had gone to drop his son to school on tuesday. The GM’s wife lodged a complaint with the police after she could not trace him in the school.

No Further Information is available as of Now. reports also  say that he called up his wife to say about the kidnapping.
