Sunita landed safely
Atlantis makes a safe landing at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert, California.Sunita ‘Suni’ Williams and shuttle commander Rick Sturckow were amongst the seven astronauts who landed safely.
Relatives of Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams broke into spontaneous celebration as news of the safe touchdown of her spacecraft Atlantis trickled in the small hours of Saturday.Millions of People had Prayed hard for the Safe Landing on Sunita Williams.
This was the 28th flight for Atlantis, and the first of four flights planned for 2007. In a journey that saw a few technical problems cropping up, the major hurdle appeared to be the threat of thunderstorms lingering for too long to welcome back the spaceship. And, with a certain degree of trepidation, Atlantis weathered the storm and descended to the earth as its wheels slowly opened and embraced the ground.
Sunita Williams Chosen Person of the Week
Hours after Suni Williams returned to Earth onboard shuttle Atlantis after a record 195-day stay in space, Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams was chosen ‘Person of the Week’ by a leading US television network.
Sunita Williams will have to wait a few more weeks to eat mom’s home made food or run on the beach with Gorby, her Jack Russell terrier(DOG) as she will be monitored for 45 days and will be on a strict diet and exercise regimen.
