Shivaji the Boss Review
I wanted to watch shivaji because of all the media hype and the adrenalin rush it gived to people not only for rajni fans but even the normal people. I could see even the small and the old talking equally excited about shivaji the boss. Surely did Media and shankar had done enough to make sure shivaji is all Hit in the boxoffice.
Since i was in bangalore n due to the uncertainity of the shivaji getting released in bangalore i thought i would see the movie back home since itz been over a month i had been home also. I had asked my brother to take tickets for me and he got 3 tickets for the saturday show. I was a bit sad to go for the second show as i expected the crowd to be more decent. I wanted Energy and Punch!!! but it wasnt a bad as it turned out to be all paper bits floating all in the air when the star came on screen.
We reached the theatre by around 8 and had to stand in the queue to get the reservations converted to tickets. The wait wasnt that long. We had booked for balcony and i could see the person telling people balcony finished will give first class and at the same time i saw them giving balcony to ladies. I understood that they wanted to sell the balcony in black for a higher price. When my turn came i insisted on balcony tickets and i got them!! thank god!
Once inside was exited for the show to start. The theatre started airing advertisements. Mohanlal’s Malabar gold advertisement came and people started sayin Lalettan ki jai and the same got aired for the second time and people was howling. Thought in my mind ” The best part of kerala”, accepts and dejects easily.
Finally the Name came on screen SUPERSTAR RAJNI. Wah the crowd went mad, all noise and paper bits in the air. The first scene was rajni taken in the police car in to jail with his head covered. In the Jail the next prisoner asks are u booked for rape, muder, robbery or anything. All this time it was Rajni’s back was shown and to answer this he turned around and that was his introductory shot. I personnely dint like the introductory scene as it dint have the usual punch. Shankar should have concentrated more on the introduction scene. We watch rajni movies because of the punch and the spirit it gives. We expect the star to get introduced in a excellent High profile manner and Stylish manner. hell yea stylish!
Well now i’ll go brief as i want all to watch the movie rather than listen to the bad narration from me.The next was the Flash back scenes with Rajni coming from the US and trying to build his empire of Insitiutions through shivaji foundation aimed to providing free education and jobs to people, But his competitor dint allow him and also he had to give a lot of bribe to all authorities and still his project was cancelled in mid way and he turned bankrupt and was thrown to streets. The villian then gives him a 1 rupee and asks to start life all over again(as a conductor, autorikshaw driver or anything). He then decides to fight people who owns a lot of Black money. He getz the complete list of people who owns black money and uses his army(he made one with gunda’s promising them good pay n future for their children) and collects all the black money and converts to white. He then uses force to sign the minister and approve for the delayed projects and compeltes them and starts his institutes. Mean time Shreya was taken by CBI ans asked to reveal the source of shivaji’s money and promised her will leave her husband safe, and he may get only few years in prison or else His enemies will kill him. Shreya who feared rajnikanth’s death gives his laptop to police and rajni was taken to police cutody. There he was tortured and a plan was made to kill him. The plan went on and He was killed(in between there are scenes where he foils this plan and escape..watch the movie for that). Then arrives the Mottai BOSS. He then Kills the villain 
I must say Vivek and RAJNIKANTH has done a tremendous work! both looked too good in screen. I was sad the usual PUNCH dialouge effect of the rajni movies wasnt there in shivaji. First half is more humour filled and second more stunds. I saw just shouting they lost money and all(they came to see movie expecting to see scenes like this only). You can always except scenes which can never be possible in real life in rajni movies(thatz to an extend for his style and success).
All in All shivaji Rocks. It’s a must watch! Entertainment at it’s best
