Pratibha Patil the name wont be familiar to any average Indian who is least intrested in Politics. Then why am I bloggin about her? Pratibha Patil(senior Congress leader) is set to get the first woman President of India as the UPA and left has announced as its candidate for the top post of the country.
A senior Congress leader, 72-year-old Patil is a former minister of Maharashtra, a former deputy chairperson of Rajya Sabha and the first female governor of Rajasthan. Currently she is also the only woman state governor in India. Patil hails from Jalgaon in Maharashtra and was a former president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. She was born on 19th December 1934. She is 16 th governor of the state. Earlier she was deputy chair person of Rajya Sabha.
She hails from Rajasthan and is a Rajput who is married to a Maratha.
She was Table Tennis Champion in her college days . She holds MA in Arts and a Law Degree. Beside her political career she also manages her own educational institutes for poor and industries.
