Installing windows XP in SATA
Ive been struggling with the installation of XP to my sata hard disk for over a week because my never hard disk never gets detected while trying to install windows. The Installation says cannot find any hard disk. The Problem was like the raid driver wasnt installed(thatz what i made out from searching). Check this Link for that method of installtion http://www.alexnolan.net/articles/installxpsata.htm . You can try this method also if you have a Floppy drive(nowadays who uses floppy) and mine never works. So i was stuck
Finally This saturday i decided to go to a computer shop and asked them to help me out. They said it can be done with some changes made in bios. I took my CPU to the shop and they started to check my BIOS configuration and made a single Change and tried again with the XP installation. Viola It worked. They dint charge me a penny for the service(thanks to those guys) and i took my CPU back home and installed XP back and was successful.
What Changes was made in my BIOS?
Goto BIOS. Take the Advanced Options(TAB ).Then Go to Onboard Device Configuration. There Look for Onboard SATA IDE. It must be selected as RAID. Choose SATA as the option and save and restart and Start on with the installation.
I hope it will work for all those who are having trouble with xp installtion in sata hdd

Wish I found this 4 days ago! X60s + setup for XP Pro was a beast until I did a lot of digging around trying to find a way to get it installed without using a slipstream (which failed as well).
